DURHAM, N.C. The Norfolk Tides ended their season Monday with a loss, falling 6-5 in 12 innings at Durham Athletic Park. Norfolk (67-77) finished tied with Charlotte for last place in the four-team International League South Division.

Staff report Durham, N.C. Elliot Johnson's two-run triple sparked a three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning as Durham edged the Norfolk Tides 6-5 on Sunday at Durham Athletic Park. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Tides. Norfolk took a 5-3 lead into the eighth inning, but relievers Kam Mickolio and Dennis Sarfate (2-2) failed to hold it.

Tides win on wild pitch in 10th inning

DURHAM, N.C. Scott Moore had three hits and drove in five runs Saturday night, but a wild pitch made the difference for the Norfolk Tides at Durham Athletic Park. Winston Abreu's errant delivery allowed Blake Davis to score the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning of Norfolk's 7-6 victory over the Durham Bulls.

Cordier was his own worst enemy, walking four Tides, three of whom scored. All of the runs came with two outs, with Rhyne Hughes' single the key blow.

Gwinnett left-hander Scott Diamond took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before settling for a two-hit shutout Monday night as the Braves beat the Norfolk Tides 4-0 at Coolray Field. Diamond (4-0), who remained unbeaten in eight starts since being recalled from Double-A Mississippi, allowed just four baserunners and at one time, retired 20 Tides in a row.

The Gwinnett Braves scored six runs in the seventh inning to overcome a 4-2 deficit Sunday at Coolray Field and beat the Norfolk Tides 8-4, snapping the Tides' four-game winning streak. Nolan Reimold (2 for 4, one RBI) was the only Tide with more than one hit. Norfolk's six hits were singles.
